Opening Prayers: Said once at the start of the Mystery. Start with the Sign of the cross and the Apostles Creed. If using Rosary beads the cross represents the sign of the cross and the Apostles Creed. The first four beads represent the Our Father and the three Hail Mary's. The Glory Be To Father is represented by the gap between the fourth bead and the fifth.

  • The Apostles' Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell; the third day He arose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting. Amen.

  • Our Father

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. Amen.

  • Hail Mary X3 (said for an increase in the three virtues, faith, hope and charity)

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

  • Glory Be To The Father

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Decade Prayers: Said once for each Decade of a Mystery. If your using Rosary beads, the fifth bead represents the first Mystery Decade which may be announced verbally or mentally, it also represents the Our Father. The next ten beads represent the 10 Hail Mary's and the following bead represents the Glory Be To The Father. The next bead starts a new Decade and you are to repeat the Our Father, Hail Mary's and the Glory Be To The Father until all five Decades of the Mystery are complete in like manner as the first.

Amen.

  • Hail Mary X10

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

  • Glory Be To The Father

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

  • Decade Closing Prayer (requested by the Blessed Virgin Mary at Fatima)

O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to Heaven, especially those who have most need of your mercy. Amen.

Closing Prayer: Said once at the end of one full Mystery

  • Hail Holy Queen

HAIL, HOLY QUEEN, Mother of Mercy, Hail our life, our sweetness and our hope! To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve; to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary!

Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Amen.

O God, whose only-begotten Son, by His life, death and resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life; grant, we beseech Thee, that, meditating upon these mysteries of the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise, through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

Why Pray The Rosary?

The Holy Rosary was given to Saint Dominic by Mother Mary the Queen of Heaven and Earth. When you pray this prayer you can pray for your own intentions or you can pray in favor of the petitions that Mother Mary sets before God.

"Say the Rosary every day to obtain peace for the world" (Our Lady of Fatima).

"Among all the devotions approved by the Church none has been so favored by so many miracles as the devotion of the Most Holy Rosary" (Pope Pius IX).

How To Pray The Rosary?

The Holy Rosary is mainly prayed with rosary beads, and you can check this website here for more details.

Step 1: Choose today's day and select the Mystery below that day. That is the Mystery said on that day.

Note: On Feast Days such as Christmas, revert to the Mystery that's noted.

Step 2: Choose the Mystery Decades by the chosen Mystery name or by the color we have associated with it. There are five Decades in a Mystery and they will be you focus when praying.

Step 3: Begin the Rosary prayer by praying the Opening Prayer which is said once at the start of the Mystery.

Step 4: Now revert to the chosen Mystery Decades and start with number 1). Say the Decade you are praying in your mind or use words. Pray the Decade Prayers for each Decade in the Mystery. Once the Decade Prayers are done continue to Decade 2) and so on until you complete Decade 5).

Step 5: Once you finish praying the five Decades of the Mystery, you finish by praying the Closing Prayer. Pray the Closing Prayer only once and that is a full Mystery prayed.
