    Judges 2:1
KJV(i) 1 And an angel of the LORD came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said, I made you to go up out of Egypt, and have brought you unto the land which I sware unto your fathers; and I said, I will never break my covenant with you.AKJV(i) 1 And an angel of the LORD came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said, I made you to go up out of Egypt, and have brought you to the land which I swore to your fathers; and I said, I will never break my covenant with you.

    These are my thoughts.
    God never breaks His promises.

    Judges 2:2
KJV(i) 2 And ye shall make no league with the inhabitants of this land; ye shall throw down their altars: but ye have not obeyed my voice: why have ye done this?
AKJV(i) 2 And you shall make no league with the inhabitants of this land; you shall throw down their altars: but you have not obeyed my voice: why have you done this?
    These are my thoughts.
If we are not following God then we might be following or supporting altars for idols.

    Judges 2:3
KJV(i) 3 Wherefore I also said, I will not drive them out from before you; but they shall be as thorns in your sides, and their gods shall be a snare unto you.
AKJV(i) 3 Why I also said, I will not drive them out from before you; but they shall be as thorns in your sides, and their gods shall be a snare to you.

    These are my thoughts.
The world will always have temptations for us the church but we need to trust in Him to overcome.

    These are my thoughts.
Being presented with God brings emotion.

KJV 5 And they called the name of that place Bochim: and they sacrificed there unto the LORD.AKJV 5 And they called the name of that place Bochim: and they sacrificed there to the LORD.

    These are my thoughts.
Even during times of mourning we need to continue serving and praising the Lord.

    Judges 2:7
KJV 7 And the people served the LORD all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders that outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great works of the LORD, that he did for Israel.
AKJV 7 And the people served the LORD all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders that outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great works of the LORD, that he did for Israel.
    These are my thoughts.
We should not have to see great works to serve the Lord.

    Judges 2:6
KJV 6 And when Joshua had let the people go, the children of Israel went every man unto his inheritance to possess the land.
AKJV 6 And when Joshua had let the people go, the children of Israel went every man to his inheritance to possess the land.
    These are my thoughts.
We are possess what is for us. The greatest thing the Lord has for us is a relationship with Him.

    These are my thoughts.
Death will come to us all; the time we serve the Lord is the time that counts the most.

    Judges 2:9
KJV 9 And they buried him in the border of his inheritance in Timnathheres, in the mount of Ephraim, on the north side of the hill Gaash.

    These are my thoughts.
We all are going to one day die, how will we be remembered.

    Judges 2:10
KJV 10 And also all that generation were gathered unto their fathers: and there arose another generation after them, which knew not the LORD, nor yet the works which he had done for Israel.

    These are my thoughts.
We need to set the example for later generation for serving the Lord by us first serving the Lord.

    Judges 2:11
KJV 11 And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD, and served Baalim:

    These are my thoughts.
Serving something other Him is the extant of evil, all things that are wrong are done because we are putting sin before Him.

    Judges 2:12

KJV 12 And they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, which brought them out of the land of Egypt, and followed other gods, of the gods of the people that were round about them, and bowed themselves unto them, and provoked the LORD to anger.

    Recovery Version

    Judges2:12

12 And they forsook Jehovah, the God of their fathers, who brought them out from the land of Egypt; and they followed after other gods from among the gods of the peoples who surrounded them; and they worshipped them and provoked Jehovah to anger.

    These are my thoughts.

Worshiping something other God makes Him angry when we are His.

KJV 13 And they forsook the LORD, and served Baal and Ashtaroth.

    Recovery Version

    Judges2:13

    13
And they forsook Jehovah and served Baal and the Ashtaroth.

    These are my thoughts.

We do not need to make their mistake and leave God and follow after something else.

    Judges 2:14

KJV 14 And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he delivered them into the hands of spoilers that spoiled them, and he sold them into the hands of their enemies round about, so that they could not any longer stand before their enemies.

    Recovery Version

Judges2:14 Then the anger of Jehovah burned against Israel, and He delivered them into the hands of plunderers; and they plundered them. And He sold them into the hand of their enemies around them, and they were no longer able to stand before their enemies.

    These are my thoughts.

When we make the Lord angry with us sometimes He has to have others cause us to break so we can then go to Him for us to built back up.

    Judges 2:15

KJV 15 Whithersoever they went out, the hand of the LORD was against them for evil, as the LORD had said, and as the LORD had sworn unto them: and they were greatly distressed.
    Recovery Version

Judges2:15 Whenever they went out, the hand of Jehovah was against them for evil, as Jehovah had spoken and as Jehovah had sworn to them; and they were greatly distressed.

    These are my thoughts.

We will be unhappy when we are not following the Lord but are His.

Judges 2:16 King James Version (KJV)
16 Nevertheless the Lord raised up judges, which delivered them out of the hand of those that spoiled them.

    Recovery Version

Judges2:16 And Jehovah raised up judges, and they saved them out of the hands of those who plundered them.

    These are my thoughts.

The allowed people to come to save them, it is the Lord that saves us He just may use people to do so.

Judges 2:17 King James Version (KJV)
17 And yet they would not hearken unto their judges, but they went a whoring after other gods, and bowed themselves unto them: they turned quickly out of the way which their fathers walked in, obeying the commandments of the Lord; but they did not so.

    Recovery Version

Judges2:17 Yet they did not listen to their judges either, but they went about as harlots after other gods and worshipped them. They turned aside quickly from the way in which their fathers walked, the way of obeying the commandments of Jehovah; this they did not do.

    These are my thoughts.

The best way to walk is with the Lord and we should be examples for future generations but they may turn against Him in spite of our example.

Judges 2:18 King James Version (KJV)
18 And when the Lord raised them up judges, then the Lord was with the judge, and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge: for it repented the Lord because of their groanings by reason of them that oppressed them and vexed them.

    Recovery Version

    Judges2:18

18 And when Jehovah raised up judges for them, Jehovah was with the judge, and He saved them from the hand of their enemies throughout all the days of the judge; for Jehovah would be moved to pity by their groaning because of those who oppressed them and crushed them.

    These are my thoughts.

The Lord cared and He put a leader into place to give them their enemies, the Lord has given us a leader as Christians, His Spirit.

Judges 2:19 King James Version (KJV)
19 And it came to pass, when the judge was dead, that they returned, and corrupted themselves more than their fathers, in following other gods to serve them, and to bow down unto them; they ceased not from their own doings, nor from their stubborn way.
    Recovery Version

Judges2:19But when the judge died, they turned and acted more corruptly than their fathers by following after other gods in order to serve them and worship them; they did not cease from any of their practices or from their stubborn way.

    These are my thoughts.

Do when a leader of ours or someone we respect goes away act differently, if the Lord is our leader then this would not happen because the Lord does not go away.

Judges 2:20 King James Version (KJV)
    20 And the anger of theLordwas hot against Israel; and he said, Because that this people hath transgressed my covenant which I commanded their fathers, and have not hearkened unto my voice;

    Recovery Version

    Judges2:20

20And the anger of Jehovah burned against Israel; and He said, Because this nation has transgressed My covenant which I commanded their fathers and they do not listen to My voice,

    These are my thoughts.

Disobeying the Lord will cause His anger to brought against us unless we have came to the cross.
